Playing a sport is good not just for children and young adults but also for seniors. Sports activities not only improve one’s physical health but also positively impacts the mental health. Studies have shown that within the senior population, exercise helps prevent disease, lower the risk of falls, improve mental health and well-being, strengthen social ties, and improve cognitive function.

Recommended exercises for seniors (Please consult your doctor before undertaking any physical activity).

  • Physical exercises – Aerobics, Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Gym
  • Sports – Golf, Hiking, Swimming, Dance lessons
  • Mental activities – Art (painting, pottery making, etc.), Reading, Games (Crossword puzzles, Bingo, Jigsaw puzzles, Board games, Card games
  • Relaxing activities – Gardening, Pets, Cooking, Fishing, Watching movies
